  • SHEILA GUNN REID | Michelle Stirling on the green war on cities

    July 27th, 2022  |  45 mins 46 secs
alberta, canada, conservative, culture, ezra levant, news, politics, pop culture, rebel, trudeau, trump

Why does your mayor want to tell you how many calories you can consume and where those calories should come from?

An initiative called C40 Cities involves mayors of big cities all across the world signing on to a climate scheme to “confront the climate crisis and create a future where everyone can thrive.” It touches every aspect of a resident's life, from nutrition, and transportation, to house size.

The tentacles of the green movement are fully entangled in municipal governments, and it shows. Calgary has recently signed on to an $87-billion climate plan. Ottawa's climate plan is more than $60-billion. No one campaigned on these plans, but now voters have to pay for them.

And outside the cities, the government is the sharp end of the spear in the green war on modern agriculture. Trudeau announced this week that nitrogen caps slapped on Dutch farmers, which caused uprisings in the streets, are now coming to Canada. Farmers will have to limit fertilizer use, perhaps cull livestock, and will suffer smaller yields which will drive up the price of food for the consumer while farmers suffer financial losses. It's starvation and economic collapse by design.

Joining me tonight to discuss the green war on cities, cars, farms, and humanity is Michelle Stirling from Friends of Science.

Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies, and gentlemen — and the rest of you — in which we look back at some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favourite Rebels. I’m your host, David Menzies.

Hey folks, did you ever give consent to your cellphone provider to share your personal information with the federal government… you know, so that the Justin Trudeau Liberals could keep tabs on your whereabouts during the pandemic? Well, this disturbing Orwellian way of tracking private citizens did indeed occur. Sheila Gunn Reid has all the unbelievable details.

And speaking of unbelievable, remember all those glowing stories via the government-funded mainstream media during the Calgary Stampede regarding Justin Trudeau being mobbed by admirers? Well, it turns out this was all so much phony-baloney propaganda. Our man in Calgary, Mocha Bezirgan, has the skinny.

And letters; we get your letters; we get your letters every minute of every day. And I’ll share some of your letters about the new and not-so improved cans of Bud Light which are festooned with new-age pronouns like H-I-R and X-E-M and Z-I-R. But what do these fake woke words mean – and how do you even pronounce them? Well, it turns out that even the people at Labatt Brewery don’t know either. Unbelievable!

Those are your Rebels, now let’s round them up…

  • ANDREW CHAPADOS | Danny Mullen gets cancelled

    July 21st, 2022  |  44 mins 1 sec
alberta, canada, conservative, culture, ezra levant, news, politics, pop culture, rebel, trudeau, trump

YouTuber, comedian, musician, skateboarder and about 1,000 other things, Danny Mullen champions himself as “being good at a little bit of everything.”

Starting out with crude questions in 'man-on-the-street' interviews on his channel, Mullen's content has evolved to cross-country treks that explore untapped corners of the United States, revealing everything from gum-covered alleyways to Thanksgiving celebrations at random family get-togethers.

Mullen has become incredibly culturally relevant with appearances in the massively popular NELK videos, as a recurring “bull*****er” role such as a fake FBI agent or drunken pilot.

His commentary has landed him in hot water, if you consider a Change.org petition against him particularly relevant. Mullen was accused of being 'fat phobic' for a comedic rant on a podcast he made that upset a cancel-culture hungry group.

“There are tiers of cancellation... fat shaming is way down the list,” Mullen explained while remarking it as his “worst cancellation ever.”

Mullen answers every question about his videos, from his interactions with Juan Mendoza from Rebel News to pretending to be professional baseball or hockey players with fellow personality Leandro Dottavio.

Subscribe to RebelNews+ for bonus segments about Danny's podcast, censorship, and his relationship with Ryan Long.

  • EZRA LEVANT | Is this sky-high inflation the result of bumbling politicians or conniving ones?

    July 21st, 2022  |  52 mins 47 secs

    GUEST HOST: Sheila Gunn Reid

Is the “painful” inflation rate, which crept up over 8% last month for the first time in 40 years, an accident or by design?

Food is more expensive than last year and the government has made it worse through price fixing.

    GUEST: Roman Baber

  • DAILY | Who's promoting bug eating today; Poilievre on Tamara Lich; 'Painfully high' inflation

    July 21st, 2022  |  1 hr 20 mins

David Menzies and Sheila Gunn Reid anchor the Thursday edition of the DAILY, where the pair look at who in the mainstream media is promoting bug eating today, Pierre Poilievre weighing in on the Tamara Lich situation, and the Bank of Canada governor warning that inflation will be "painfully high" for the rest of the year.

  • SHEILA GUNN REID | Tom Harris on whether Conservatives are ceding too much to the environmentalist left

    July 20th, 2022  |  53 mins 48 secs
alberta, canada, conservative, culture, ezra levant, news, politics, pop culture, rebel, trudeau, trump

Are Conservatives conceding too much territory to the environmentalist left when they adopt their language to discuss climate change?

The city council in the most conservative place in the country, Calgary, under the direction of new progressive mayor Jyoti Gondek, has just adopted a net-zero climate scheme that will cost the next two generations of Calgary residents 87 billion dollars to implement fully. The plan stems from an earlier, non-binding resolution to declare a climate emergency in Cowtown.

Something similar happened on a federal level a few years. Conservative leader Andrew Scheer whipped his caucus to agree to a non-binding motion to support the United Nation's climate change agreement. It was very soon that the targets in that agreement were written into a trade agreement with the EU, CETA. And the vote by the Conservatives to support the Liberal motion has been used by the Liberals as a cudgel against any Conservative that dares to differ on the issue of climate change ever since.

This is why even conceding language, phrases to the left and agreeing to non-binding virtue signalling announcements is a bad idea that leads to worse ones.

My guest tonight recently penned an op-ed in the National Post chiding the Conservatives for adopting Liberal talking points and suggesting that Conservatives must seize the opportunity of their leadership election to reset their communication strategy on climate change.

But will they? Or are they too scared of CBC to do what they know the grassroots want?

Joining me tonight to discuss this issue and the farmer's rebellion in the Netherlands is Tom Harris from the International Climate Science Coalition Canada.

  • EZRA LEVANT | Trudeau’s bodyguards threaten reporters, again

What I'll read to you on tonight's show is what Trudeau-approved journalism looks like.

GUEST: Breitbart senior editor-at-large Joel Pollak

Matt Brevner returns to the DAILY, hosting alongside Andrew Chapados. On this midweek edition, the pair discuss Justin Trudeau's maskless photo-op on a train (gasp! we're still in the midst of a pandemic), Andrew Lawton's book about the Freedom Convoy being barred from Indigo shelves, and the UN/WEF's previous assertion that the two organizations would be accelerating Agenda 2030.

  • EZRA LEVANT | While the world tries to lower gasoline prices, Trudeau wants to increase them — he says so

    July 19th, 2022  |  34 mins 44 secs
alberta, canada, conservative, culture, ezra levant, news, politics, pop culture, rebel, trudeau, trump

Trudeau doesn’t actually hate oil. He just hates Canadian oil. He’s fine with Russian oil. And he’s fine with the American oil and OPEC oil that will be imported to Canada to fill the void left when Trudeau finally breaks Alberta’s back.

GUEST: Franco Terrazzano, federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, joins to discuss the high cost of the federal carbon tax before rebates are provided to Ontario families.
